About Us
We moved into our current neighborhood in late 2010. It is a closed loop with one entrance. There are no street lamps or lights, the houses are set back from the road. It can get very dark. When ordering delivery, we went through the common scenario:
- Delivery Driver slowly drives by and misses the house
- Delivery Driver calls or texts
- We try to explain which driveway is ours
I ordered an LED sign that lit up the word “Pizza” with moving LEDs to attract attention. When ordering a pizza online, in the “Special instructions to driver” box, I added: “Look for lighted up pizza sign.”
After ordering, I would plug in that sign that always hung in the garage facing the street. When delivery drivers would (now quickly) arrive, they loved it! Many stated they wished everyone had one, and would tell their managers about it. After delivery I’d forget about the sign until a text message the next morning from neighbors that said: “PIZZA SIGN STILL ON”. So now, The Delivery Light turns off automatically after 45 minutes.
We scaled down that device and delivery restaurants use it as a novelty for people to turn on when they are expecting a delivery to help direct the delivery driver to their location.
